Find Your Local V-DAY
Ask Them to Help End Intersex Genital Mutilation

Our experience is that many V-DAY organizers are happy to include intersex in their agenda for the violence-free world--but only when they are aware of the issues in the first place. That is where you come in: find your local V-DAY production, and ask them to help end the intersex genital mutilation.

You can easily find your local V-DAY productions by using Find a V-Event Near You website at http://events.vday.org. Once you find it, please do the following:

• Ask them if they are aware about the genital mutilation of as many as 2,000 children in the United States annually, or five children per day.
• Point out that the V-DAY national office has since 2001 endorsed the goals of the intersex movement, and that the national V-DAY considers intersex genital mutilation to be part of the problem that we are addressing.
• Point them to our website (http://www.ipdx.org/vday), which has specific information about how V-DAY chapters can help end intersex genital mutilation by distributing our handouts, etc.

Obviously, it's better if you contact schools that you already have relationship with: where you attend, where your family member attends, where you work, where you graduated from, etc. Please always be respectful of the organizers--they are mostly volunteers who are doing great work!
